      Great place to work

      Director of engineering
Current employee, more than 5 years
      San Francisco, CA

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Working at Glassdoor is challenging yet very rewarding. There is a high bar in terms of performance, but also plenty of support from everyone around you to reach that bar. There are Good People everywhere and it really feels like we are heading in a good direction both in our technical foundations and our product.

      Cons

One small thing is that over time we have slipped a bit on our goals around Transparency, I think this is mostly a function of being fully remote, and it is being worked on, but its something I've noticed.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Glassdoor. It’s great to hear that you find the work both challenging and rewarding and that you feel supported by the team. Creating an environment where employees can thrive while working towards ambitious goals is something we deeply value, and we’re glad to see that reflected in your experience. We also appreciate your candid feedback on transparency. As a fully remote company, maintaining open communication is something we continue to focus on, and we acknowledge that there’s always room for improvement. We're actively working on ways to ensure that information flows more effectively across teams, and we welcome any ideas you have on how we can do better. Thanks again for your insights and for being a valued part of Glassdoor! - Rodrigo Oliveira, Chief Technology Officer

      Pros

Complete and total transparency. Great compensation and benefits. Good people. Lack of a high pressure environment—realistic deadlines and expectations with lots of input from engineers at every level. I always feel heard and that my feedback is taken seriously (because things improve over time). Incredibly competent engineering managers.

      Cons

Honestly none that I can think of that are worth mentioning.
