I applied online. I interviewed at Discover (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2017
Interview
I was contact by an HR representative via email. I had a preliminary phone interview with the HR manager to screen my background and experience. I had the required background for the role which progressed to a full afternoon of internal interviews with the hiring team. I was disappointed after 4.5 hours of interviews, I could not get a response from the HR contact. I would have liked feedback of even confirmation they went with another candidate. I know they have many strong candidates for each open position, therefore, went with the candidate they felt was the best fit. I followed up after the interview for closure, but I could not get a response from the HR contact. I thought it was unprofessional for such an establish company to not respond at all. A simple email they went with another candidate would have been enough.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Discover (Riverwoods, IL) in Oct 2019
Interview
Probably one of the worst interview processes I’ve had. Interviewed with 5 people who read the same HR mandated questions literally from a piece of paper. They then were filling out the paper to send back to HR. No personalization at all. I answered the same 6 or so questions over and over. Definitely not what I expect from such an established company. Complete waste of time.

Name a time you had to handle a difficult work situation
Corporate recruiter was main point of contact. Had HR phone interview, hiring manager phone interview, 5 person onsite interview. Process went fairly quickly and the recruiter was awesome. Turned out it was just not the right fit for me.
