I had the initial phone conversation with the hiring manager, then he had me speak with 2 other employees over the phone. During my initial screening, the hiring manager was very adamant about a "work hard, play hard" mentality in the company, which I've come to learn means "We make you work long hours and then have mandatory happy hours with the team."
The next two calls I had were with the director of recruitment and one of the business development higher-ups. The Hiring Manager wanted me to speak with these people, but my conversations with them consisted of saying hello, me telling them about myself and them doing the same, then them asking if I had any questions and ending the call. There were no interview questions asked during those phone calls, so it gave the feeling that they are only calling so that they can say we spoke. The second employee I talked to asked about other companies I was speaking to (which is a fair question), but then he went on to talk about how the other companies were pyramid schemes (spoiler alert: they aren't).
Overall unprofessional, it was very clear they were just trying to get someone in the office and didn't care about actual substance. I was also told that they pay only a small amount over minimum wage, but was never told the exact number. They avoided the question by saying a bulk of the money comes from commission, but they still would not tell me the base.
