Question 1
Tell us about a time you messed up and what you did about it?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at PPG (High Point, NC) in Mar 2024
Interview
Step One: Interview with a recruiting screener. Standard fare, 30 minutes to go over your background and learn more about the position and the company itself. They did have to reschedule last second and were slow in scheduling the next step, taking over a week w/o contact before making arrangements.
Step Two; Virtual interview with hiring manager. Again went fine, Hiring Manager was impressed with my resume and gave me the impression that I would be a great asset to the team. HR, once again, were slow in scheduling the next step, taking over a week again.
Step Three: In-office interview with Director and Hiring Manager again. Once more went fine, Director was slightly late and noticibly distracted but explained that they had a major meeting they needed to leave early for. No major objections were expressed by Director. Hiring Manager started discussing onboarding details and gave the impression that the final interview was all but a formality. Final words from Hiring Manager was to expect some kind of follow-up in the very near future.
Post-Third Interview: After the given timetable for making a decision was exceeded, I followed up with the Hiring Manager. I did receive a response stating that the process was taking longer than expected but they hoped to make a decision in the near future, less than a week. After two weeks and no further contact, I followed up and did not receive any response. As it has now been over four months since last contact, I think I know what the answer is.
