WNS Web Content Manager interview questions

I went through 2 round of interviews, first round with ops managers and second round with 2 Associate Directors and then after a week during a follow up calls, I was informed that my profile doesn't match with job role. I just have one question if my profile wasn't a match then how was I able to qualify first round and appear for the second round?
