If you're considering taking a job/interviewing with this company - please please read the reviews left by others. I was a bit apprehensive about listening to what others say here bc often times people leave reviews in these platforms only when they have a negative experience. Well, I went through the process myself and had a terrible experience for various reasons.
I interviewed with a recruiter who asked about my ethnicity and after telling her where I'm from (not from China) she goes "I love you even more!" This was just a red flag and validated my theory that this company does in fact have a huge diversity issue.
After an initial phone screen I make it to hiring manager interview - he was pretty cool. Admitted that there's not a lot people that look like him in the company (he's white) and so again, further validating that there's a huge diversity issue here (just look at all the people on LinkedIn that work for this company).
I make it to the panel rounds and this is where I really really got sketchy vibes from this company. First of all, I interviewed with a product manager who put the meeting on pause to answer phone calls TWICE. So unprofessional. Mind you, he was having the interview in his cubicle, no headphones, and people next to him could hear what I was saying. He was even making side commentaries about my answers to the people next to him. So rude!!
I then interview with a lady who talked about herself for the entire 30 minutes and asked about 2 questions about myself/background. I left so confused as to why she was talking so much about herself/the company and not vetting my out as a candidate. Whatever. The last person I spoke with was also pretty new to the company. After asking her about her experience with the company she took a long pause and said "I work a lot after hours - bc it feels natural to me" big yikes + red flag.
So then I got an offer after feeling like I wasn't super vetted out for this role. I'd be managing 4 people and I have 0 management background. I felt like I was offered a position because I'm not Chinese and there's a clear diversity issue here with about 95% of the workplace being Chinese. Hiring manger says I have the right attitude and honestly that to me is just her saying she thinks I'd be down to work 24/7 on call with no work life balance which is absolutely not happening.
Icing on the cake was the hiring manager calling me to extend an offer and I kid you not this is his first line "Hi! We'd like to offer you a position!! Do you accept?" WITHOUT TELLING ME THE TERMS OF THE OFFER/PAY! Totally ridiculous. Granted, I later found out that I would get paid more in this company (about double of what I made in my last job) but there's no way in hell that I would actually work here because of the toxicity that surrounds the company and I was convinced that I'd end up quitting in 3 months.
Again, there's a clear diversity issue here; lack of work/life balance; and overall I was just super worried of working for a sketchy company that paid me a lot without fully vetting out my background AND the company has a huge turnover rate. Literally look at past employees on linkedin and you'll find that most employees leave in 6 months.
And another thing you will be overworked and asked to travel to fremont to work right away during the pandemic. Big yikes!
