Position Description

HOH is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer, licensed, with at least 10 years of experience in developing and delivering building projects. The position will play a key role in providing creative and technical solutions for our clients and coordinating with our multi-disciplinary teams to help bring our building projects to life. This role will involve engagement with architecture and engineering teams from building design concept through construction, ensuring alignment with client goals, technical standards, budget, and schedule. Your experience working on large-scale projects with multiple project team members and client stakeholders is critical.

The position requirements include, but are not limited to:

· Coordinating with HOH project managers and clients to develop structural designs,

· Coordinating structural design work with a team of architects, mechanical and civil engineers, and specialty consultants,

· Managing project deliverables, budget, and schedule while maintaining a priority focus on quality,

· Meeting with clients and their stakeholders to develop and refine project design goals,

· Translating technical designs into clear construction drawings and specifications that provide for buildable and cost-conscious designs,

· Performing code analysis and incorporating relevant regulatory requirements into the designs,

· Supervising and coordinating the work of structural designers as relating to the above,

· Conducting technical and quality reviews, including cross-discipline coordination,

· Understanding and supporting the project team through the bid phase process,

· Understanding and supporting the project team through the construction administration phase, including responding to contractor requests for information and structural shop drawing reviews,

· Conducting field visits and site observations, and

· Collaborating closely with other team members to ensure successful project delivery.

Additionally, the Senior Structural Engineer will be expected to participate in mentoring structural designers, assist with marketing proposal development, and assist in the management of HOH’s quality assurance / quality control procedures.

Qualifications

• Illinois Licensed Structural Engineer.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in building design and project management.
• Proficient in specification writing.
• Proficient in Bluebeam.
• Working knowledge of Revit applications in drawing production.
• Proficient in using International Building Codes.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• Located in the Chicago area and able to be in the Schaumburg office four days a week.
• Licensure or the ability to be licensed in multiple states is a plus.
• Hands on proficiency in Revit drawing production is a strong plus.
• Experience with construction phasing planning is a strong plus.
• Experience with DoD security and building hardening standards is a strong plus.

Benefits and Compensation
The compensation range for this position is $140,000 - $195,000, based on the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
