Pros

People who really care about what they do

Cons

The organization doesn’t know how to grow. Lots of nice sounding talking points that don’t map back to actions and behavior. No change management from leadership. Reason given for most recent layoffs was to remove bureaucracy and to stop doing things that is no longer part of the focus. Yet leadership still pushes for same deadlines, while adding ambiguous asks to the scope and never solves for challenges that they create. Some of the teams who were key to resolving challenges and providing clarity on what needs to happen to achieve X were let go. So the result is constant chaos, mediocre outcomes that are packaged as wins. Nobody feels empowered to push back on poor leadership decisions or report bad news. People’s health are impacted by the stress and exhaustion, some have been hospitalized and come back to the same working conditions.

Pros

Career opportunities to advance. Leadership provided consistent learning opportunities with time managed while on shift. Co workers face the same challenges in shift tasks, team work is maintained on the manufacturing floor. Nice friendly and of various skill ranges coworkers were a major part of safety and task completion.

Cons

This place was incredible to have an opportunity to work at, very large manufacturing location, being disabled walking around complex was a challenge.

Pros

- Good people, despite the bad politics. People are generally smart and well meaning - Relaxed work environment depending on team. Most teams have pretty good WLB and don't require 50+ hour weeks unless you are trying to get in front of leadership

Cons

- Low pay compared to comps across US unless you're senior ++ but such is life in the SD job market - Not tech forward -- lots of inefficient processes and frustrating tech stacks that do not scale - Very political environment -- senior leadership cuts corners to appease shareholders and this creates a culture where people cannot actually stand behind their work so they resort to playing politics to keep their job - Limited opportunities for advancement. Growth has been slow the past couple of years, budgets tighter, and overall way less room for advancement. This is a company for someone mid career or later, not early career
