Pros

GF has locations around the globe that encompass 3 very unique and different cultures (US, APAC and EU). If you must work at GF, go APAC or EU. Regardless of job role, if you are smart and have a bit of business acumen you can choose your own path. Leadership gives deserving employees ample freedom to deliver results via many different methods.

Cons

Low comp vs industry. Firm has recently felt like it values young, cheap labor over more costly experienced labor. The $ belt has been tightening over the years and is only getting tighter moving into 2026 and beyond. Not much “fun” to be had when all activity / decisions are $ dependent.

Pros

Working at home is an option for many

Cons

The review process is a joke. The common phrase around the building is "the harder you work, the harder they kick you in the nuts." There are chances to grow within the organization, but first dibs go towards the friendly people that spend more time chumming it up with their boss than people that do the actual work. Things aren't as horrible as they were during startup, but they will never be as good as the more popular companies such as Intel or AMD. But I guess it's better than working for TSMC, because they only yell at you half the time.
