Pros

IDEXX has a strong and meaningful mission, which makes the work feel purposeful.

Cons

There were few growth opportunities within my team. Leadership relied heavily on a single subject matter expert (SME) for reporting team performance and participating in meetings related to the team's processes, which limited involvement and advancement opportunities for other team members. Despite expressing interest multiple times in growth, process work, and new responsibilities, those opportunities were consistently given to the same individual. This created a perception of favoritism and made it difficult to develop professionally. Concerns regarding team dynamics were raised with management on more than one occasion, but little changed.

Pros

They don't have any pros that could even remotely make up for the cons.

Cons

Idexx does not respect education or intelligence. In the ten years I worked for Idexx, I watched as they disrespected highly educated and trained employees by hiring uneducated dolts at higher rates of pay. They'd rather hire people with no job and education experience because they are easier to manipulate. Local management sucks. They're just trying to get approval from their bosses. They will blame their employees for problems they caused, but take credit for employee wins. Typical middle management behavior i guess. Idexx claims to care about work/life balance but only in so far as it doesn't affect the "work" part. Your schedule will suck and they will expect you to rotate onto a weekend day every other week. Management does not understand your job and has unrealistic expectations of how.much you should be doing. 40 differentials per hour isn't fast enough because they refuse to hire the right number of people.
