Pros

I have nothing but good things to say regarding my recent onboarding with Kemper. The hiring process was easy, fair and swift, and the hiring managers and recruiter I worked with were supportive, communicative, friendly and welcoming. I am three weeks into my training class and the experience has been great - the hands-on learning and process in which the trainers teach you the skills you need to succeed in your position are unparalleled to anything I've experienced in the past, working for other major insurance carriers. I'm confidant that I made the right choice in my career path by coming to Kemper and I'm excited about my future with a company that cares as much about their employees and customers as they do the bottom-line.

Cons

I have no suggestions for how the onboarding process could be improved. So far, the experience has been top-notch!

Pros

None that I can think of. This is the worst company ever!!

Cons

The salary scale is below the national average. Kemper bought Infinity Insurance bc Infinity was the only company in the nation to make a profit in the Florida/Miami market. They said they would keep everything “as is” before the purchase. However, afterwards they lowered the pay scales, gutted departments, overloaded adjuster with claims. Infinity had developed its own claim system that worked beautifully. After purchasing, Kemper refused to allow adjusters to use the existing system and required employees to use their cookie cutter system that was/is terrible. I can’t blame lower mgmt for the problems bc they were just doing what they were told to stay employed but upper mgmt refused to listen to the employees. Infinity always had a company wide Christmas celebration for its employees that helped us stay connected to each other and rewarded us with the best prizes and a ton of money drawings. After Kemper took over, they cut out all of the celebrations that made Infinity/us so appealing to begin with. Kemper is a terrible company to work for. They either fired most of the Infinity employees (all levels of mgmt and adjusters) or made the workplace so miserable you wanted to leave… even for a pay cut. I worked for Infinity for 8 yrs and Kemper for 18 months. Most days consisted of 12 hrs at least. Some days I worked 15-18 hrs. No kidding. And at least 2 weekends a month just to try and keep up with my claim load. I refused to sacrifice my integrity to cut corners and do subpar work to make a dollar.
