Pros

labcorp was great to get experience since your patients can vary from pediatrics to geriatrics and everything in between. definitley makes you a stronger phleb and makes you polish up your attention to detail. I credit alot of my experience to the time I worked here.

Cons

you are extremely over worked. they expect you to do front office, billing/insurance, in addition to doing phleb work. often times they leave you as the only patient care tech in the location that is packed with people waiting well over an hour. they are purposefully understaffed and will not provide much help. managers try to help but ultimately corporate calls the shots and will not budge. its quite literally you vs a huge company. not to mention the "VIP" sites in los angeles. In training we were told no one is VIP and to treat everyone equally, even if they are a celebrity. However, working in LA thats a different deal and they will expect you to tolerate verbal abuse from clients in a high paying area like Wilshire. Toxic and rude clients but very hardworking staff that is underpaid.

Pros

I have worked at Labcorp for 22 years and have been promoted to many different positions throughout my career. Labcorp has been an amazing place to work, and I look forward to continuing my career here.

Cons

Labcorp is a large company and is highly matrixed, which can be tough to navigate; however, through the years, this has become much more streamlined.

Pros

No cost lab testing IF you can ever get time away from work to go to the doctor

Cons

Ineffective management Plays favorites Engages in shady passive aggressive retaliatory behaviors Has "work snitches" who will spy on and tattle on you if you're not one of the "favorites" Will go live with new equipment/software without ever doing a test mode to see if there's any kinks or bugs to work out. They just do it and expect you to "deal with it" with NO guidance or support from management because they don't know either or were never trained Training is the blind leading the blind Constant changes to policies and procedures or how they want things done, many of them not in the SOPs, just personal preference of what the "favorites" want Anti union busting-and they're OBVIOUS about it-or they'll pull shady passive aggressive behaviors like weaponized incompetence or "quiet firing" where they'll bully you into wanting to quit. No praise, gratitude, or appreciation for your work-just constant negative feedback and pointing out every little thing you did wrong AFTER they set you up to fail with bare bones staffing, no help, an unmanageable workload, unclear direction, and getting sent specimens/reqs/etc that are unclear, ambiguous, wrong, outside stability, in the wrong container, at the wrong temp, or are otherwise pure garbage but they expect you to turn it into gold to please the clients.
