Pros

Work from home with flexible-ish hours

Cons

Pay cap extremely low for all departments, much lower for the national average (for example, I am roughly underpaid by about $30k for my role). Over the time I have been here, 12 developers have left, and those salaries were definitely not redistributed among the remaining members of the dev team. I only received three raises (once per year) before I was told my pay was capped, which has been the case for almost 4 years now. Nepotism is strong in the upper tiers of the company. You have to work your way up from being on the phones / customer service to any position in the company (unless you're related to the upper tiers of the company, then that doesn't matter). This drastically limits the quality of employees that rise to the higher tiers of the company (team leads, developers, IT, NOC, etc). Turnover is high in the lower tiers of the company. The only reason the middle- and upper-middle tiers have lower turnover is that it takes so long to get into those positions since you have to work from the ground up. It's a "bring your own device" company, but the software they ask to install on your machine is highly invasive and does not turn off outside your scheduled working hours. Health insurance is crazy expensive for giving you almost no benefits. This is partially masked by offering the HSA account, but more often than not I have to use external discounts on healthcare over my insurance to reduce out-of-pocket cost.

Pros

Raises are given regularly. You always have an L2 agent ready to assist when needed. They only promote from within. You can work from home.

Cons

Depending on the contract you may reach a pay cap and your hours may get reduced. There was a period when one of the contracts was expected to end and some employees were sadly laid off due to lack of contract work, but this is rare. The call volume can get rough during certain points of the day.

Pros

Everyone is clueless just like you. You're not in this alone. Management is pretty good.

Cons

So many changes, uncertainties in maintaining your job as contracts ended. Stressful in knowing if your contract that at any given point you can be dropped and put some place else.
