I went through a two-stage interview process. The first round was a 30-minute discussion with the hiring manager, which went well and was a positive experience overall.
The second round was a one-hour presentation covering three areas: a renewal/QBR scenario, a 30-60-90 day plan, and a passion presentation. While I had prepared thoroughly, the experience during this round was mixed. Throughout the presentation, some panel members appeared disengaged—there was visible side conversation, smirking, and casual chatter even though the session was virtual. This was surprising, especially since one of the panelists had been part of my first round and had been very professional there.
This behavior was somewhat distracting and affected my overall experience of the round. That said, the panel did provide constructive feedback toward the end, which I appreciated.
Overall, while parts of the process were positive, the presentation round did not feel as professional or engaging as I had expected.
