Pros

Got paid overtime - but overtime was due to demanding workload they gave me

Cons

The CEO told us that 'just because we've gone round the sun one more time, doesn't mean you deserve a raise' - even though they continued to increase the workload whilst paying minimum wage (workload was not equal to pay). They only care about the top level management and refused to hire more staff when if was desperately needed - hence the massive workload. They refer to the the coordinators as 'worker bees' which should tell you how they see their employees. Attitude of Josh Gould and Mark Rice is disgusting. The worst place I have worked unfortunately

Pros

I got to interpret in Ministry of Justice context

Cons

The MoJ paid millions for the interpreting services contract. The money was pocketed by MoJ. Their app looked and worked as if created by a teenager who has just learned coding, the invoicing was subpar and the staff were overworked and rude. Interpreters were paid ridiculously low fees, no travel time, abysmal travel costs. If you booked a 3 hour assignment and the defendant was no show or the case was dismissed or dealt with in 5 mins you would only get paid for one hour. You could end up travelling for one hour or more to go to a court, then back, and make £25. After deducting the travel you were out of pocket. This experience caused me to completely give up the profession after studying and passing exams to get the diploma in level 6 interpreting. Many interpreters did the same. When I left the profession most interpreters in courts were unqualified because no good interpreter was interested in being exploited by TBW.
